Iceland

Listen to me: Go to Iceland. NOW!

Iceland has been making it incredibly easy to visit lately. Charlie and I found an amazing deal via Travelzoo – $600 per person for flight, hotel, transfers, Northern Lights tour and Blue Lagoon.  This whole trip lasted 4 days and 3 nights and we decided to go in the middle of winter which has it’s ups and downs.  Upside is that it’s there low season so few tourists, lower rates and beautiful snowy weather.  Downside is that it was only light out from 11am – 4pm, but silver lining is great sleeps:)

Reykjavik is small and quaint with a population of only 100,000 people.  This little village is easy to get around and extremely walkable.  We rented a car to avoid the tourist busses and the ability to take long drives outside the city, but you can definitely get by without one.  It all depends on what you are looking to see.

To Eat

Fish Market – Fish Market is the perfect spot for a nice dinner.  While it is suggested to do the tasting menu, we had to make the Northern Lights tour and didn’t have time.  Still. – the food is wonderful.
